Encouragement for Christian Bloggers Today

I know we are ALL feeling a bit of fear these days because of all that is happening in the world.

The idea of censorship is something that should concern all of us, regardless of our political affiliation. But the truth is that censorship is something that we, as Christians, should expect!

Yes, it seems that almost overnight, Christian and conservative voices are being shut down left and right but the reality is that they’ve been attacking us for a very long time! And we should actually EXPECT it and not be surprised or cornered into fear because of it.

Just keep blogging.

It can be so easy to let fear stop you from actually blogging. from actually writing and publishing new content. But this is EXACTLY what the enemy wants! Always stay focused on your mission which is to reach more people for the Kingdom of God (through your blog).

Always have a backup plan. Better yet, have a plan B, C, D…..Z!

Have a Backup Plan (or 10).

If you have a private group/community on FB, keep the community alive there for now. BUT – start looking for backup options in the event your group is shut down.

  • Ensure everyone in your private group is signed up for your email list. Then download a CSV file of all your subscribers. This will enable you to still connect with them via email if your current accounts get shut down. (If your email list grows weekly, I recommend doing this once a week so you have the most up to date list saved.)
  • Create groups on other networking platforms and let your readers know about them. You don’t necessarily need to be active on them yet, but create the account/groups so you can connect with them if your primary group is shut down. (I am in the process of creating accounts on multiple networking platforms and will share that with you as soon as I get everything set up.)

We are NEVER OUT OF THE FIGHT!! (You may remember that line from the movie Lone Survivor, but it soooooooo applies to us as Christians!

Just because one door is slammed shut in our faces, we don’t throw in the towel, we FIND ANOTHER DOOR! Think in terms of a determined rebellious teenager. When mom says no about one thing, they figure out another way to accomplish whatever they were trying to do.

Talk to God

Of course, this should have been your starting place, but I saved the most important one for last!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Before you allow fear to take hold, remember that God has a plan!! If you listen to Him, to the subtle cues He gives during prayer, during the day – He WILL show you the way!!

Sharing is caring!
