11 Hopeful Bible Verses About Spring

Spring is a wonderful time of year! When we think of the Spring season, we think of renewal – and the resurrection of Christ (and Easter)!

For me, I absolutely LOVE the Spring. The barren trees quickly become lush with green leaves. The seemingly dead plants begin to bloom with the most beautiful colors and the butterflies and ladybugs begin to fly around the yard.

My favorite thing to do each morning is to check my potted plants for new blooms – for new life!

Spring is an awesome reminder that God makes all things new again! What was dead begins to come to life again and blankets the earth with such beautiful creations!

Here are some of my favorite encouraging Bible verses about Spring.

What Does the Bible Say About Spring

Most of us think of the phrase “all things new” when we think of Spring. In Revelation 21:5, God promises that one day He will make everything new.

And while we all look forward to that day, we get a preview of what that might look like through the beauty that happens during the Spring season.

What does Spring symbolize in the Bible? In the Bible, Spring symbolizes a time of renewal and new beginnings.

The ground is parched – desperate for the rainfall to quench its thirst. We can relate this to how we are refreshed by the love and grace we receive from God.

It is also a time for growth – personal and spiritual. And it is a time to be reminded of the peace we can have by trusting in Him.

It is a powerful display of our Creator’s mighty power and presence!

Spring Symbolizes Renewal

Spring is a time of renewal. All the vegetation that was barren and dead now comes alive in such awesome beauty!

This is an important reminder of the renewal we find in Christ. When we feed on Him, His Word, His promises – we are renewed and free from all that was before. Here are a couple of Bible verses about spring renewal.

Spring Symbolizes Growth

Spring is definitely a time of floral growth around the planet. But it should also remind us that God wants us to prosper.

This is a time to reflect on where we are and where we can be. Are we planting the right seeds in our lives? Ones that will go forth and prosper?

And are we planting seeds that will cause growth in our spiritual lives as well?

Spring Symbolizes Peace

The Spring season also brings a feeling of peace. When we see the barren fields and skeletal remains of plants begin to, not just come to life but flourish, it is a peaceful reminder that no matter how bad things may seem in your life – God can and will restore it!

Bible Verses About Spring

Just like the beautiful flowers that blossom and come to life in the Spring, God gives us the ability to blossom when we accept Him into our lives. He makes all things new – gives us a clean slate from our past sin.

And the Bible is filled with spring scripture to remind us of the hope we have in Jesus!

Song of Songs 2:11-12

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. Song of Songs 2:11-12 NIV

Isaiah 35:1

The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Isaiah 35:1

Hosea 6:3

As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3

Becoming new in Christ is just like those plants! The shell of emptiness will now blossom with love and possibility!

Isaiah 44:3-4

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. Isaiah 44:3-4 NIV

Psalm 1:3

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither —whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:3

Isaiah 43:18-19

What does the Bible say about new life? Think about that annual plant that seems to have withered away to a skeleton over the winter months. Suddenly, it begins to blossom with beautiful color and foliage!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
