Are you looking for some high-energy Christian workout music to get your heartrate going?
What better way to get your worship and your workout on at the same time!
Don’t get me wrong, I love traditional worship songs that often have a softer rhythm. But when I’m ready to get in workout mode, I prefer faster music that has a medium to a high tempo and beat.

Getting Pumped for Jesus with Christian Workout Music
In my younger days, before I was a Christian, I always preferred rock music along with some techno remixes. As an adult (and now a follower of Christ), my musical preference hasn’t changed so I’m so glad that there are Christian musicians in these genres!
Some of my favorite Christian workout music has more of a rock or techno beat – perfect for staying motivated to finish a morning run or while at the gym doing a circuit workout.

My Christian Workout Music Playlist
My workout playlist has a combination of upbeat Christian songs with super high-energy and some with more of a “cooldown” beat.
I would have to say that Skillet is probably my absolute favorite for (seriously) upbeat worship songs while working out!
Aside from being high-energy, these songs speak about Jesus (as you can see from the titles listed below) and how we can tackle anything because He is with us.
These songs are currently at the top of my workout playlist:
TobyMac is super popular among the younger generation because he often collaborates with other popular “non-traditional” Christian artists. His songs are all about staying focused on Jesus.
- Eye On It – TobyMac (feat. Britt Nicole)
- Ignition – TobyMac
- This is Not a Test – Toby Mac (feat. Capital Kings)
Hillsong Young and Free
Another popular group for the younger generation (making it perfect for Christian workout music) is Hillsong Young and Free. While I do love Hillsong United, Hillsong Young and Free songs are more upbeat and appropriate for a workout.
Newsboys is perfect for a Christian workout playlist for the gym or for a bout of cardio!
More Christian Workout Music
Ok, I’ve listed who my absolute favorites are from my playlist. But, I do have several more that are a must-have for any Christian workout music playlist.
These vary from super-high energy, to techno remixes, as well as some that have more of a hip/hop rhythm.
- #LITO – Press Play
- Overcomer – Mandisa
- Glorious Day – Passion (feat. Kristian Stanfill)
- Happy Dance – Mercy Me
- Joy – Jonny Diaz
- Jump Start My Heart – Satellites and Sirens
- Your Love Awakens Me – Phil Wickham
- Move – Audio Adrenaline
- Go Hard – Lecrae (feat. Tedashii)
There you have it! My personal Christian workout music playlist!
To be honest, I don’t just listen to this list while working out. I do housework and yardwork, take a shower….I can listen to this playlist all day long if I had to!
Like I said before, I do love traditional worship music. But these Christian worship songs just have the right beat and tempo to get you motivated and get your heartrate up!
