What are Biblical Affirmations
Biblical affirmations are the truths that are rooted in Scripture that you can say out loud or quietly to remind you of your worth in Christ and all that He has planned for you.
And since it comes directly from Scripture, we know it has the full power of God behind it.
In a time when it seems the enemy is coming at us during every waking moment, we need strong and powerful reminders that our identity, our worth, our value – comes from God (not the world).
Why Are Christian Affirmations So Important
We’ve all heard of positive affirmations where we just speak positive things to ourselves. Speaking positivity over ourselves can help us to keep a positive mindset.
But Christian affirmations are different.
Christian affirmations are more powerful because they literally come from God. They remind us of His promises. They remind us of our worth in Christ (not the world). They remind us of the power God gives us to face the things of this world.
Biblical affirmations are so important because the more we understand our value in the eyes of Christ, the more confident we are in battling the enemy when it comes at us.
Sure, we can say things like “You got this!” or something more general in nature, but when it comes from Scripture – literally, the Word of God – we should have no reservations on whether it is really true. Because if God says it – it IS true!
And when you speak Christian affirmations, you know, without a doubt, that the enemy has not tainted them!
How to Use Christian Affirmations
There are so many different ways to use Christian affirmations – and there isn’t a right or wrong way to use them.

- Treat them like a song or short poem where you just recite them over and over to yourself.

I am Loved
Do you ever feel like you are just not loved by anyone? Maybe you had a bad or broken childhood, let down by those who should have taken care of you. Or maybe you’ve been through a barrage of failed relationships.
It is so easy to start thinking that no one loves you. But I’m here to tell you that is simply NOT true!
God loves you!
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9
I know that I am loved because God sent his only son to die for my sins!
Sure, it feels good to have earthly love from family, friends, and significant others. But that earthly love will end. God’s love, however, follows you to Eternity!
I am Forgiven
Do you feel like the bad things you’ve done in your past define who you are today? Maybe you feel that some of them were so bad that you can’t possibly have a seat at the table with other Christians because you aren’t worthy.
I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name. 1 John 2:12
When you give your life to Christ, you start with a clean slate. Your past is completely forgiven by the blood of Jesus dying on the Cross.
If God can forgive you for all of it, who are you (or anyone else, for that matter) to hold to the reminders of your old self?
I am the Daughter of a King
Too often, we discount our worth based on where we come from here on Earth. As women, we tend to discount or worth because of humble beginnings. Maybe you come from the “wrong side of the tracks” or some other “lesser” description of your upbringing.
You can easily start thinking that you are a nobody. But dear Sister, always remember that you from Royalty!
Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father’s house; Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him. Psalm 45:10-11
You are the Daughter of a King! And with that comes an eternity filled with abundance in Heaven!
Do you ever just feel useless? Like you have no talents or anything to offer the world?
It could just be that you focus so much on the “not” that you haven’t really taken the time to figure out what gifts God has given you to share with the world.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
When God created you, He created you with a purpose. None of us are useless! Each one of us was gifted with something of value to offer the world!
I am Hopeful for the Future
Are you worried about your future?
These days it is so easy to get caught up in all the political drama that instills fear for what the future will hold.
The truth is that none of us can predict what the future holds. God is in control of what our future brings!
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
God has a future planned for you! It may not be the one YOU envision, but you can be sure that what He does have planned for you is so much better than what you could have dreamed of!
I am Fearless
Fear is something we all deal with in our lives.
Fear of the future. Fear of failing. Fear of the unknown.
But fear is something that none of should give in to because God is always with us! If we can envision Him as a personal protector
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
I am NOT afraid because I know that God is with me wherever I go and whatever I do!
I am Never Alone
Do you feel that people always let you down? Or when it matters most, they abandon you to fend for yourself?
That was me for so long! From a very early age, those who were supposed to have my back – didn’t. I walked through most of my childhood and younger adult life feeling completely abandoned and alone. I felt that I was the only one I could rely on.
God showed me that He had actually been there all along, even though I didn’t know Him yet.
Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5
When you feel alone, always remember that God is right there beside you and will be there always!
I am a New Creation
Have you ever traded in an older junk car for a brand new one? For so long, you drove that clunker and carried around all the problems it had.
But once you leave the parking lot in the new car, you leave that clunker behind! All you have now is the new car smell, the perfectly running engine, everything is NEW! You no longer have the reminders of that old thing!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
When you accept Jesus into your heart, your old self is like the trade-in car! You leave it on the lot and don’t look back! You are a new creation in Christ and all of these biblical affirmations become your new life.
I am Confident
Confidence, or lack of, is something we all struggle with in our lives. We tend to tackle anything hard or outside our comfort zone with a “I can’t” attitude.
Many times this stems from a lifetime of failure or being told that we are failures.
When we can remember that our confidence comes from our relationship with God, it is so much easier to tackle those hard things.
God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Psalm 46:5
I am confident in everything I do because I know that my God is right there with me!
I Am Accepted
Acceptance is something I always struggled with growing up and into my adult life. I just needed people to like me!
Unfortunately, this caused me to try to change myself in order to please others. And, in the end, those who I was seeking acceptance from – always let me down in some way!
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God. Romans 15:7 NASB
God loves and accepts me just as I am! I no longer have to prove myself to others to be accepted. He accepts me with all of my many flaws!
I am Remarkable
Do you think you are ugly? Maybe you don’t like a particular physical trait about your body?
I think this is the one that gets us the most as women. We continually criticize our bodies! And social media has really put that into overdrive!
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 NIV
We are His handiwork! If God created us with His own hands, how can we be so critical?
I am a Conqueror
Do you ever feel like you can’t achieve a goal because something (or someone) much bigger is attacking you and you can’t possibly beat them?
The truth is that NOTHING can stand against God! And if you have God on your side, then you can also conquer anything coming against you!
Today, more than ever, it seems the enemy is winning at every turn. Our Christian values are tested and challenged daily! It can be easy to think that the enemy is winning but he is NOT!
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
Always remember that nothing can stand against the power of God. I am a conquer because I have the power of God within me!
I am Chosen
As a child, I was always the last one picked during recess games. I was the last one chosen and that gave me such a complex as I became an adult.
Why was I never chosen? What was wrong with me? Fortunately, God chose me!
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 NIV
I am chosen by the Father!
I Am Able Capable
Self-doubt is one of the enemy’s most powerful strategies for keeping us from reaching our full potential in Christ.
But when we remember that our strength comes from God, we can literally tackle anything that comes our way!
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 NIV
I can do anything I set my mind to because God is my strength!
I am a Child of God
Last, but certainly not least, always remember that you are a Child of God!
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12 NIV
No matter what challenges you may face in your life, you are a part of God’s family!
