The Importance of Trusting God’s Timing

Why should we wait on God’s timing?

Isn’t there something we can do? Yes, pray for guidance. While we must continue our normal routine, we must also give it to God and let Him take care of our situation who will ultimately lead us in the right direction.

There is hope in Him and waiting on God’s timing is key to learning key elements of the Christian life: trust, patience, and faith.

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:25-26 NIV

During troubling times, we have a choice – let God stay idle in the passenger seat and just dwell on our negative thoughts and complain. Or, we can get out of the driver’s seat and let God take the wheel.

Are you trusting in Him to drive you through the darkest of storms? Remember, though, His will is not a roadmap, it’s a relationship.

When You Don’t Understand God’s Timing

There will be many times in life when we don’t understand God’s timing. We become impatient and frustrated.

Unfortunately, when we don’t understand God’s timing, it leads us to try to take matters into our own hands. And this will lead to so many problems!

Think about Abraham and Sarah. They tried to speed up God’s promise of a child. And look at all the drama that ensued!

The thing is, we aren’t supposed to understand God’s timing. We are simply supposed to trust it.

However, it doesn’t mean we should lose hope and stress out about our situation. Instead, there is true peace in His word.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.Ephesians 2:10 NIV

Truths About God’s Timing

Are you still struggling with your sticky situation and having a hard time believing God’s Word? Let’s look at what’s true and right. Remember to wait on the Lord and meditate on God’s promise. He has a plan for you.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalms 27:14 NIV

God’s Timing is Perfect

During times of trials and tribulations, we are weak and frail. Yet, when we give it to God, His almighty power is revealed.

His ways and timing are perfect and precise. Someday, we’ll be able to look back and see all of his footprints throughout the difficult times.

Trust in God’s timing because it is perfect.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

God’s Timing is Always Right

Have you ever looked back after a crisis is gone and saw many positive outcomes that came out of it? Are you stronger now? Can you handle small fires much easier? Is your relationship with God closer?

Whatever the outcomes, when we have the right relationship with the Lord, we soon realize that God’s timing is always right.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

God’s Timing is Everything

God’s Word reminds us of the season that exists for every situation. There’s a time to live, a time to die, a time to cry, and a time to rejoice.

God’s timing is everything.

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1

God’s Timing is Peaceful

When our own thoughts are racing over and over again and fear overwhelms us, we are in chaos.

However, when we meditate on God’s word and speak with Him, there is peace and tranquility. God’s timing is peaceful.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 NIV

God’s Timing has a Purpose

Sometimes a crisis in life doesn’t seem like it would ever have a possible outcome. The Lord’s vision is the future. He is omniscient and He knows everything.

Nothing is by accident! When we aren’t seeing the results we want in a timely manner (timely according to us), it is because God is providing us an opportunity to learn and grow.

We must trust in this truth and believe that our situation will serve for God’s glory.

For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery. Ecclesiastes 8:6 NIV

God’s Timing is for Our Own Good

At times we’re going to feel tired and burned out; we keep focusing on Him yet, the path of least resistance seems so much easier.

The Bible is clear that there will be a time when all of our good works will reap plenty of rewards. We must not give up as God’s timing, it’s for our own good.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV

God’s Timing is Not Our Timing

As we discussed, God’s timing is perfect and for His glory. It’s for our own good and to draw us closer to Him. While he knows everything past, present, and future, He has the knowledge.

So, since he knows the facts and we just harbor feelings, let’s be grateful for our God. We would be making wrong decisions if we didn’t rely upon His guidance.

Let us be thankful that God’s timing is not our timing.

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Micah 7:7 NIV
