And I can’t stress just how important it is that we get more Christian YouTubers sharing God’s Word in a video format because video is the way of the future!
Below, I share the simple steps to getting your channel set up and also some helpful video creation tips.

How to Start a Christian YouTube Channel
Starting a Christian YouTube channel is actually quite simple. The hard part, for some, is the idea of being on video. If you fall into this group, I’d recommend starting with just posting short video clips to social media (IG Reels, etc) to get comfortable being on camera.
If you can get up in front of a group of people at church, you can do it on video!
The enemy knows that, as Christians, we tend to shy away from bringing attention to ourselves because, of course, the attention should always be towards God.
But YOU are the messenger He has called so it is time to take that step outside of fear and into the calling God has placed on your heart!
Choose a Christian YouTube Channel Niche
Just like with Christian blogging niches, there are many Christian YouTube niches you can choose from.
A few that come to mind include:
- Bible Study
- Bible Journaling
- Christian Living
- Fitness/Healthy Living
Honestly, just about any “secular” niche can become a Christian channel simply by incorporating biblical concepts.
Do Keyword Research
Aside from focusing your niche, the key to being successful with your Christian YouTube channel is to ensure you do proper YouTube keyword research for your videos. I personally use a tool called TubeBuddy and it has really helped me ensure my videos are competitive with other similar content.
Set Up Your Christian YouTube Account
Setting up your profile is pretty simple. When you start a new account, it walks you through the steps of all the things you need to fill out.
The set up wizard, however, only tells you what boxes to fill in. It doesn’t tell you exactly what to put in them.
Ensure you are using good keywords for your channel, where appropriate.
Also, ensure you create a channel trailer and include links to all of your social platforms and website, if applicable.
Create and Publish Videos
This is the fun (or scary) part!
The best piece of advice I can give you about making your videos is this:
DON’T OVERTHINK IT!!
Be yourself! Don’t feel the need for everything to be perfect. I think people, in general, are so over the Instagram perfection phase and just want people to be real.

Share Your Videos
Although YouTube is a search engine and, eventually, your videos can be found organically there – you also want to share your videos outside of the platform.
You can make Pinterest pins for your videos (upload them directly to Pinterest). You can include your videos in your own courses, E-books, etc. Or you can simply share them on Facebook!
The idea is to share them everywhere to get more eyes on them.

Of course, there are some things you might want to invest in at some point. Here are the things I’ve actually purchased but didn’t spend a lot of money on.
