Whether you were brought up in a Christian home, attending church on Sundays, or not, you still have the same choice today; the same opportunity to serve God as fearfully and extremely as any other individual. The question that comes to mind is “how are you serving Him?
Through a personal relationship with God.

Who is God to you?
Your personal relationship with God is a keen determination on where God fits into your life. Do you serve God through your thoughts, as well as your actions?
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 NIV
Do you serve God in every aspect of your life? Is He someone you communicate with every day?
So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today – to love the Lord your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul- Deuteronomy 11:13 NIV
I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands. Psalm 119:10 NIV
But be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart. Consider what great things He has done for you. I Samuel 12:24 NIV
Ways To Serve God:
Prayer Time
Whether it be alone, in a group, at the dinner table or while you are driving… prayer is an opportunity to draw near to God. It isn’t meant to happen only when we are in need of something that only He can provide. Prayer is one of the most important things we can do. It is our way of asking Him to help others who are near and dear to us or in need. It is to thank Him for the blessings He provides for us on a daily basis. It is to let Him know we acknowledge that He is in charge of our lives and the path before us, and that we count on His guidance to get us through each trial, every struggle. It is to repent of our shortcomings, our sins, and accept that Jesus died for these sins to pay the price that we cannot, nor are accountable for because of His forgiveness…
The power of prayer is so vital it has the power to defeat the devil and His power over us. Prayer is our way of coming through our battles victorious.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 NIV
This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us – I John 5:14 NIV
And pray in the spirit on all ocassions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18 NIV

Bible Study Time
This is a time we spend with God in His word, which gives us direction in our lives. It is our road map, our “answers to all questions” book. This is something that we can do alone, with a friend, or with a small group. This is a very important part of serving God and is hand-in-hand with prayer time.
God’s word is truth:
“Sanctify them by the truth: your word is truth.” John 17:17 NIV
God’s word tells us how to receive the desires of our heart:
“If you remain in me and my words in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.” John 15:7 NIV
God’s word tells us how to be fruitful and grow in our faith:
“but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” Psalm 1: 2-3 NIV
Church Attendance
Church attendance is highly important. We attend church to be among others who are followers of His word, who want to be encouraged and gain spiritual growth through the hearing of His word.
Small Groups
Small groups are meant to bring people together to form a closer relationship with God, one another and to reach out to unbelievers through the word and our faith in Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV
For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 NIV
Personal Testimony
This is how we share our personal salvation experience and it also shows how God changes lives.
“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:32 NIV
So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 2 Timothy 1:8 NIV
In conclusion, I ask one last question: “Where does God fit into your life?

This was a good question to start out with on a Monday morning! (That’s not to say that it wouldn’t be a good question at any other time! 🙂 ) You’ve got a good list of priorities to increase focus and devotion on God. It’s actually simple, if you think about it. Simple, but not easy. I heard a pastor say that once. Great read today! Thank you.
Such a great question, and one I’ve been thinking a lot about! I’m trying less to “fit” him in, and more to make him the focus, and let everything follow that. Great post!
Hi LeeAnn! Visiting from CWBU! Thank you for these important reminders! We can so easily get out of touch with God in our busy lives! Blessings!
Thank you for sharing! Some great insights. Pray should be a priority in our daily lives, so important!
I think this questioning and trying to figure out where God fits in our life, is really common particularly at the start of our faith journey. Then as we progress, we start looking to invite Him in and make more room. And eventually, we can’t see any separation from God in our life. It’s all on the table! Thanks for sharing all of these verses to come back to! Super encouraging for bringing God’s love into every part of our heart.
